Outlook Inbox Repair Tool Not Responding

This is the most common query which is facing by Outlook users.  

There can be some reasons for getting this error message while trying to repair Outlook .pst files using scanpst.exe (Inbox Repair Tool) utility but before giving an alternative solution I just want to clear some points.

I did some extensive research on this problem and found in many cases that users do not complete the repair process of PST file through the scanpst.exe because of “Progress Bar”. Yes, as we all know clearly that Inbox repair tool will not show the progress bar that means you have no idea how much time it will take to complete the repair process because it works in the background and freezes current window of scanpst.exe tool. Suppose you have large sized files and repairing it via Inbox repair tool then maybe it takes 1 hour or 1 day depending on the size of file. Time will also depends on the amount of corrupted data but once the repair process complete you will get the message ‘Repair Complete’. I know the scanpst.exe tool is quite confusing. However, it works in some cases but it is imprecise how much time it will take.

Note: Inbox Repair Tool does not work in case of heavy corruption.

For heavily corrupted and damaged PST files, it is suggested you to use third party tool because it gives you quick and complete result.
